The smockshop is an artist run enterprise that generates income for artists whose work is either non-commercial, or not yet self sustaining. A smock is a simple double wrap around garment designed by Andrea Zittel - then sewn by artists who reinterpret the original design. As an active testament to Zittel’s principle that "rules make us more creative", each resulting smock is completely unique and one of a kind.

wear:

how to wear: The smock is a one piece wraparound which fasteners in both front and back. The fit on top is loose and is designed to be worn over a tank or t-shirt in the summer, and a long sleeved cotton shirt or thin sweater in the winter.

how to fit: There are no standardized sizes at the smockshop (standardization never worked well for us anyway) The cut and adjustability of the smocks are extremely adaptable and flatters many body types. A few of the smockers have modified their patterns to their own body types so we recommend that you try on a smock before purchasing it.

when to wear: Wear your smock whenever, wherever, and however – every day, and for every function. This will save you time, money and energy. Rather than agonizing about what to put on each morning you can move on to larger things like experiencing the world in it's fullest and learning about new things. We promise that your full life will be far more exciting then your full closet ever was.
